With Millennials set to make up one-third of the workforce by 2020, we interviewed 19,000 Millennials and their managers to find out what the leaders of tomorrow expect from their careers.
From Millennials themselves, we focused on finding out about their top career priorities and motivations. From their managers, we wanted to see what they think Millennials are getting right about their careers, and which areas they think they could use some more work on.
Millennials: A Career For Me
Interestingly, only 5% of the UK Millennials we spoke to said ‘managing others’ is a top career priority. In comparison, 21% said they were focused on making a ‘positive contribution’.
It’s clear that Millennials are paving their own path. Getting to leadership level is low on their list of priorities – what’s much more important, is money and purpose.
